Jonathan Oliver:  Senior Architect, Anti-Spam and URL Filtering

Jonathan Oliver brings more than 15 years of computer software experience to his position of Trend Micro’s Senior Architect of Anti-Spam and URL Filtering. In this role, Dr. Oliver is responsible for designing and developing the company’s solution and data mining methods for a range of scientific and commercial applications including anti-spam and machine learning software.

Prior to joining Trend Micro, Dr. Oliver served as Chief Spam Fighter and Director of Research at Mailfrontier; and as Systems Architect at Dynaptics Corporation. Earlier in his career, Dr. Oliver worked in consulting roles for both Cygnes and Ultimode.

Jonathan Oliver holds a doctorate in information theoretic approaches to machine learning from Monash University, Melbourne. He holds12 patents for technological designs and has contributed articles to such publications as the New York Times, BusinessWeek, ComputerWorld, ZD Net, eWeek, and The Age.
